oh I wonder.... G.G. did not play those roles anyway because it was difficult for no eye make-up and no lipstick at all?.....Saint Joan never wore make-up, and another "nuns" roles, too. Must G.G. put make-up on Saint Joan? I have a vhs tape of "Song of Bernadette" from the video in the library where I work so I will try and watch it at home....I'm so very curious because I never seen it before...so I hope it is good story!!!! ;D

I have the I.Bergman film on video..JOAN DÀRC...shes wearing very less make up.it looks good. you know this film?? www.imdb.com/title/tt0039111/It is very popular cos jane wyman hardly used make up for this movie..to look more natural..

I saw Ingrid Bergman wore short hair....less make-up and so natural enough for "Joan of Arc" in the picture....oh oh oh I bet that Garbo will be the most beautiful looks in "Joan of Arc" or "Saint Joan" or "Song of Bernadette" without heavy eyeline and eyelashes mascara make-up!!!!! And also her hair will shave later before death in an execution.... I think Garbo can act as masculine and tough like Saint Joan that must be best actress? Successful??? Great Critics?? Ha, ha about actress Jane Wyman wore blonde without make-up in "The Yearlings" with George Peck...yes, I saw twice...very interesting story about poor deer ....I love so dearly....and I saw French actress Jean Seberg did a part of "Saint Joan" a movie one time....colorized in VHS...also! I understood and knew well about who Saint Joan was in the history....I have a lovely picture that Garbo wore no eye-make-up....oh beautifully natural and "Bedroom Eyes"!!!!!! I love it!!!

sad that Garbo said...."Don't ever ask me about the movies, especially why I left them....I mean, who would want a second term as President? I've dodged the past. Imagine if other actresses my age hibernated the way I do----they'd probably commit suicide. I'm sorry for a lot of things, for quitting things. But I've always lived my own peculiar way, willy-nilly. I'm sort of a free-going spirit, otherwise I can't exist. Actually, I've been out of order for years." (Walking With Garbo by Raymond Daum)

Hi John....I already finished to watch "Song of Bernadette" today....oh it was soooo strange!!!!! Something mystery about a ghost or spirit of woman appeared by the cave for the miracle around the water flowing to heal the wounds or disabled....I just afraid to believe that....I don't know if Garbo believe it....because she did not do act in that movie, either...I don't know!!!! I wish I can hear after healing my deafness from miracle....well, I quess so it was very strange about Bernadette, do you believe? Thank you about it.!!!

John, you're right that we don't judge their faith beliefs anyway....that's their own life business!!!! yes of course, I have a tape vhs "Song of Bernadette" at the Library that I work...I rent it and watched it then took it back to Library...ummm yes, it was great story...actress Jennifer Jones looked like Bernadette...acted like Bernadette....perfect way of life!!! Sorry, that Garbo did not need to discuss or explain why or what's wrong, etc....she simply said a word "NO"!!!!! That was it!!! She confused them alot...heh! We understood that Garbo feared her age in the camera that she avoided it anymore....because her myth and mystery stays forever and "The Face" eternal youth....her films were her youth forever....her last film "Two-Faced Woman"!!!!!
