;D Hello,
As I live in Paris, the capital of fashion, I propose to post in this topic the high fashion clothes having a link with Garbo’s movies or fashion, and to do it regularly to follow the actual tendencies.
Are you ready for the “défilé” as we say in French? This is a very haute couture site;))!
(click on the pictures if you want to get a larger view)
- The knight/amazon style, with boots and long coat which she had in “Queen Christina”:
= Garbo in “Queen Christina”
Hermès couture made it for autumn/winter 2007/2008:
Very nice amazon look!
= This one is not Hermès but Jill Stuart
= Dolce & Gabbana
= Burberry
- The beret/shirt style, a bit masculine, like Garbo in “As you desire me”:
= Garbo in “As you desire me” with studs of cuffs like men, maybe soon on Dvds? What about the petition to Warner Bros?
= Hermès couture
= Agnès B.
= Versace
= Garbo with her impeccable collar in the 30's
= Lovely collar from Valentino 2007/2008
- The dancer style, as a modern version of “Grand Hotel” or according to my idea of scenario that you can read here: gretagarbo.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=hobbies&action=display&thread=1168032497
= 3 Suisses catalogue. It seems Greta Garbo in “Fame”!! It's going to be the year of the "legging" made to enhance the legs, borrowed from the dancers, and to use with legwarmers, long socks or boots.
= Garbo with stretched clothes like a dancer. This is a picture made by Edward Steichen.
- The clothes of Queen, reminding her costumes from “Queen Christina”:
= Garbo had nice white pyjamas in "Queen Christina"
= Christian Dior Couture 2006.
= In “Queen Christina”, Garbo didn’t wear armour but she had a crown.
= An armour-dress by Christian Dior Couture in 2006.
- The Mata Hari clothes:
= Garbo with a shining costume in “Mata Hari” letting appear a shoulder. She also wore velvet, veils and a back dress.
= A dress letting appear a shoulder by Dior 2007/2008.
= Another of this kind, with veils from Valentino
= A velvet and bright costume from Alexander McQueen 2007/2008
= A dress veil from Alexander McQueen 2007/2008
= Bright fluid costume with veils from Christian Dior Couture 2006.
= A great back dress Tadashi couture
= Vera Wang couture
= Jill Stuart couture
This is a form enhancing the shoulders or the bust.
Garbo wore this form of dress in a cut scene of "Mata Hari":
= A white version of the back dress by Valentino, magical butterfly !!!
= It seems the front of the same dress by Valentino again. Garbo wore a white version of her clothes from "Mata Hari" in "The Painted Veil" with a white turban instead of a black bonnet leotard:
- The Susan Lenox style:
= In "Susan Lenox", Garbo had a bright dress made of a fabric called "lamé" in French.
= A close dress from Martin Grant 2007/2008
- The Mysterious Lady style:
= Garbo wore a diagonal dress with flowers on a side in "The Mysterious Lady".
= Garbo with another fluid diagonal dress
= A diagonal dress from Valentino 2007/2008.
