I’d like to organize a competition of flowers pictures. I post you here my favourite pictures of Garbo with flowers, and just after other celebrities’ pictures. Whatever flowers can mean: “I love you”, “don’t forget me”, “I miss you”…. They are always very important in Garbo’s romantic image. The orchid can even symbolize Garbo herself as she wore an orchid in “Mata Hari” and made the movie called “Wild Orchids”. Now here the pictures of other celebrities using flowers too: = Lillian Gish = Marlene Dietrich = Lana Turner (looking a bit like Marilyn Monroe on this picture) = Nicole Kidman = Demi Moore = Sheila Escovedo = Salma Hayek = Sarah Bernhardt = Kate Bush = Björk = Uma Thurman This is a Poison Ivy tendency but without the poison!! Extracts of Poison Ivy scenes from Batman & Robin are here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhVrB0bcr50. I love the scene where she makes grow flowers. = The advertisement of the perfume “Anaïs Anaïs” from Cacharel reminded also the flower ladies in the 80’s. Here are some images taking from the campaign: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrYHqYAeIaEA so tender moment!! A few questions for you : - What are your 4 favourite pictures among those posted here? - Which one among the other celebrities do you find the closer to Garbo style or complementary or interesting? Garbo was the Blodeuwedd of the picture, a kind of flower goddess on screen. Her testimony is like millions of flowers growing and never disappearing ... Thanks again Garbo!!!!!! ;D.

Hi Clovie! I love your choice of photos, they fit well together. Many thanks ;D. We can see the evolution of the romantic style from the past until now, with the advantage of the colour. I think the photo of Sheila Escovedo can be complementary for the pose because it could have been done by Garbo, it’s really romantic and dreamer. For the beauty, the other photos are interesting and bring ideas. There’s like a fusion between Kate Bush and Björk, strange and magic together. Marlene Dietrich has a really stylish photo in the same direction as Garbo, probably her best picture as a visiting card, and Lillian Gish shows innocence that Garbo had too. I post you here photos from the same theme: I love this one from Rita Hayworth, with a jazz dress from the Dame of Shanghaï and a Spanish flower around her neck. We can reconnoitre the great shoulders form that she inherited from her Spanish origins. Another, very English, with a big black rose and a spotted veil, the model was Honor Fraser and the photographer Martyn Thompson who renewed during a period the old English style. And this one with boy behaviour, the flower on the jacket, taken from Tipping the Velvet with Rachael Stirling: I loved very much the Anaïs Anaïs advertisement. Sadly, we don’t have the original video. Thanks again Clovie. I love your ideas. Sincerely Your friend english

LOVELY!! Her eyes looked dark on this pic. It's strange how the light or shadow could change it I love this result, her gaze is so soft .
