There are some pictures of Greta Garbo having a knight look in Queen Christina.
In the history, knights as women were best known as Scathachs in the Celtic culture. They also educated men for love which surely was a guarantee of serenity. The mythology gave a status of knights to the Walkyries from the Nordic culture too. Books about various kinds of Amazons, who were sometimes considered as knights, are often unavailable.
This appearance and the status of queen are considered by a lot of fans as the best image of Garbo in a movie. It reminds the “3 mousquetaires”.
In “Queen Christina”, Garbo is playing with John Gilbert.
They are face to face and equal like this old classical illustration of the couple in Celtic culture:
• I have a few images of modern knights’ female characters:
- Fantaghiro played by Alessandra Martines in « La Caverne de la Rose d’Or » in the 90’s, like a female version of the King Arthur
- Kate Bush in the music video “Babooshka” in the 80’s, with a costume inspired by the drawer Chris Achilleos. You can watch this video through those links:

- Britney Spears as a gladiator for a Pepsi advertisement (unfortunately, she did'nt make a movie like this)
- Xena played by Lucy Lawless, a female version of Conan the Barbarian
- Emma Peel played by Diana Rigg for "The Avengers" on TV in the 60’s, who practises martial arts like Bruce Lee.
You can watch the title of The Avengers on this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hillH7-1ixM&NR
- Nicole Kidman with the Gallic queen Bodicea look. I don’t know exactly why this picture was made, maybe a test?
- Sydney Fox played by Tia Carrere in “Relic Hunter”, an adventurer like Indiana Jones
- Ellen played by Sharon Stone, a gunslinger cowboy in “The Quick or the Dead”
- Famke Janssen playing Jean Grey / Phoenix, the flaming mutant from the X-Men Movies.

There’s also Barbarella, played by Jane Fonda, who is a mix of hero and “bimbo” from the 60's, probably representing the wish of a bimbo to become a knight? Not a bad idea.
• Some paintings about it could interest you for culture:
- Eleanor of Aquitaine painted by Kinuko Craft
- Illustration by Giovanni Caselli about Athena, goddess of wisdom and war
- Painting by Gerard di Maccio representing a woman covered by an armour/man (bad scanned image)
- A walkyrie illustrated by Konrad Dielitz
- Paintings by Jake Baddeley.
