I saw a movie "Anna Karenina" 1948 actress Viven Leigh on TCM this morning....oh I cannot believe how beautiful and gorgeous Viven looked so lovely as Anna Karenina! The scenes and styles were different from Garbo's film....wow! I like both of GG and V. Leigh as Anna Karenina....very fabulous story! I saw that horrible Viven faced in front of the train and hit her down fast and dead in the end! How different scenes of GG and Leigh faced suicide by the train! Have you seen Viven Leigh as Anna Karenina yet? I found out on Amazon for Viven Leigh as Anna K dvd! Check it out! Here's few pictures: Real Anna Karenina? I haven't yet seen the Anna.K by Vivien Leigh and of course I would like to. Fanatique, I guess what you've read about the critic loved more the Anna Karenina made by GG, and the one made by Vivien was to "exagerated" can be true. Vivien could have been exagerated, she used to be very dramatic actress... I've seen the GG one and the russian version too and I bet that GG's 1935 version is the best!

It was an okay film. Very Vivien. It had its okay moments but i think its just great to see "SCARLETT" again in another film apart from GONE WITH THE WIND. She hardly made any movies.
Did you know that Vivien also starred as CAMILLE on stage? yep!
Elizabeth Taylor also planned her own version of ANNA KARENINA in the very early 60s.
Would have loved to see this CAMP version with heavy eye make up and a hysterical Taylor ;-)
