Hi everybody.
First of all let me say how thrilled I am to join this group and let me introduce myself: I am Portuguese, live in Porto (2nd largest city in Portugal) and, like you all, I am a Garbo fan.
I don´t really remember when I started admiring Garbo or even when I first saw one of her films. I think it was quite a long time ago. I do know that once, in London, during a party, I met a Scotish guy who was also a Garbo fan. I remember he asked me her famous debut line in the talkies (in Anna Christie). I said:“Gimme a viskey …” (well you all know the rest of the quote) and we talked the night through.
I realised then, that I probably had a crush on Garbo. She has been for me something more than just a movie queen, a diva or an actress. She is an inspiration, an object of wonder and pleasure and she has never ceased to intrigue me. I hope that I can share this love with you all. Greetings,
Sergio
PS- Does anybody know where to get a copy of the famous screen test, Garbo did in May 1949, for her return to the movies film project “La Duchesse de Langeais”?

wellcome to our message board.........I have been to Lisboa a long time ago........what a beautiful city it is, I always wanted to go back there....... we then travelled to a nasty beach just south of it (costa di caperica).......and then to a fantastic hotel overlooking the sea (further south, can't remember the name of it).....with a white tent outside with glorious food and an authentic village in walking distance........Porto is the proud heart of Portugal, is that right? We tourist mess everything up......that is the same in my home country, little authentic villages are overrun with tourist........
anyway:

Hi John,
Thanks for your welcome and information. I did see once in a GG doc a few images of that screen test. I was wondering if there was the full test. I'd like very much if you could get me that link.

Hi Patrik,
Thanks for your reply. About Portugal: How nice you have been here and had a great time. I think I know the beach you're refering to. Very lively! Yes Porto is the proud historical heart of Portugal.
About Scotland: Very nice memories about kilts (and yes it´s true what they say) and lots of GG trivia together...
About the screen test: I´d love to have the full version. Do you know where to get it?
Greetings
Sérgio

Hi Sérgio, well, we all want that screen test but at the moment I think nobody has the complete set….. We all hope for the special anniversary productions; maybe they give us this as a Special on a DVD. I have doubt about this because it must have been a different production company and the right situation was probably never cleared but we do know that they are around……….so we all hope
I am glad you solved my burning questions about……………..the kilts………Porto I mean……….
It is great to come across people who think on the same line……… there are so many secretive Garbo fans out there……….she is the best Mythos that there is around in the world of stars…..
