Hello John and David
Concerning the above films yes I do know them. The Mata Hari one was a film for television, telling the tragic story of Mata Hari's trial, her emprisonnement until her execution. It was not based on glamour. The actress who portrayed her, i forgot her name was very good, she said that Garbo inspired her for that (probably that Divine, ascetic almost look with the black cape and her hair pulled severely bach which reveals all the beauty of that Face). Madame Bovary is the Claude Chabrol film with Isabelle Huppert (to be honest I did not like it very much, I prefer the older Vincente Minelle version with Jennifer Jones, it does exist however on DVD through amazon.fr). The Médée you are referring is probably the play with Isabelle Huppert which was filmed when she performed the play at the Festival d'Avignon. She then played it in Paris (at the theatre d'Avignon). I believe it was shown on Arte. By the way Huppert will portray Hedda Gabler form January on i think at the theatre Odeon.
Now concerning Mata Hari I personally love it, perhaps not a strictly great film but Garbo is fascinating.

Hello David and thank you for you kind words and my apologies for sending the message at least three times, just a technical problem. Actually what you have written before about her films being remade. Other than Mata Hari which was remade a couple of times (by the way I did not like the Jeanne Moreau film), there were many films of the Lady of the Camelias (but which one could be compete with Garbo). Anna Karenina was remade of course with Vivien Leigh among others and there were remakes of Grand Hotel and even "Woman of Affairs" under a different title in the thirties with Costance Bennett.

Nakis, no problem about three times in technical problem....just fine! I understood! Oh yeah, remade of Mata Hari, Camille, and Anna Karenina, too!!!!! I chose Garbo!!!! I believe Garbo's voice and face were sooooo fabulous in the films rather than other actresses!!!!! They did not have great voice! Garbo was so famously and got a big hit in the Box Office for "Mata Hari" because people ran in the theatre for the first opening night....wow!!!!! They were interested in Garbo who played as Mata Hari!!!! I don't like Jeanne Moreau, either! Viven Leigh was so pretty actress in "Anna Karenina" but sadly not successful, too! Garbo's Anna Karenina was the best successful!!!! Congratulate Garbo!!!!!! Thank you for wonderful sharing with you, Nakis!!!!!
