Turner Classics will be showing "The Temptress" on Jan. 24th. They are also showcasing a documentary where 5 composers compete to create a music soundtrack for the film. The Temptress will follow the documentary with the winning composer's music played for the film. Isn't this exciting?

Hi everyone. I am a huge Garbo fan from Australia. When I read that the US was screening The Temptress, I was jealous. We here in Australia don't screen any silent movies on TCM. Of course they play the obligatory classics, but that's about it. So when I read that it was screening overseas, I thought I might ask if any one on this board could send me a taped copy of the movie. I would be more than happy to pay for postage and tape. I have purchased all of Garbo's movies over the years, but The Temptress still eludes me. It would be much appreciated. I love this board with all the updates and happenings. I am thinkig of becoming a member. Regards Mono

you don´t need to do it;) i just thought that she may ask you.
I think they have PAL..so you can´t make her a video anyway and she would pay for the shipping costs which is very nice. Maybe someone else can help;))

Dear John and David. Thank you very much for your assistance. I have a VCR that plays both NTSC and PAL so it doesn't really matter. The documentary preceding the movie sounds fantastic too. If either of you could help me, you can email me on jmona2@bigpond.com.au and we can discuss details. Regards Mono.

Does anyone know if any "Temptress" footage directed by Stiller made it into the final movie? I've read some reports that said all of the footage was kept (Alexander Walker) whereas others say all of it was scrapped and Fred Niblo started it all over again (Swenson). I just hope that any such information/footage might be included in the DVD's next year . I tend to think that maybe Swenson is right. I have seen stills of GG being directed by Stiller during the movie (eg. where she is riding a horse) but I've been told none of it appears in the final cut. What a shame I hope this upcoming documentary might shed some light on this matter. Mono

Interresting...mmm....i think and i think thats even confirmed that Stilleres scenes ARE used and in the film. He just didn´t get any credit.he was paid for it to be un-creditet. about the "riding a horse" pic. This may be a deletet scene;) Can you post the pic or send it to me?? I can´t remember it, right now. I hope i helped..even if i can´t say it for 100%.
