:)J, I found one in "Life Apart" by Karen...page 434, "It took almost two and a half hours to present a detailed synopsis, and Hepburn could tell by the end of act 1 that they had lost Mayer. The trio left Mayer's office withous further comment. Greta was obviously perplexed and wanted to know what had happened." Also in Barry Paris a book page 417..."I was quite anxious to do Mourning Becomes Electra with Garbo and with George Cukor directing," said Katharine Hepburn of that 1947 film, but "we didn't get anywhere with Mayer. In the end, Dudley Nichols directed, Rosalind Russell played the cold-blooded mother instead of Garbo, who was initially interested but, at forty-two, decided she didn't want to portray the thirty-nine-year-old Russell's insane mom." Thank you so much, J!
